The week of General Hospital episodes from August 25-29 were packed with drama, to say the least! Maxie (Kirsten Storms) fell into a coma; Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Ava (Maura West) and Kristina (Kate Mansi) took Ric (Rick Hearst) hostage; Drew (Cameron Mathison) was on the receiving end of multiple threats; and Portia (Brook Kerr) and Curtis’s (Donnell Turner) marriage reached the breaking point after Stella (Vernee Watson) was arrested. And that’s not all! Keep reading to catch up on everything you may have missed.
Fond Farewell
Lucas broke the news to Mac, Felicia, and Spinelli that Maxie was now officially in a coma. He oversaw Maxie’s transfer to a top-notch care facility in Boston after Maxie’s loved ones said poignant good-byes to her.
Spa Treatment
Britt went to Jason’s suite at the Five Poppies and begged him to leave and forget he’d ever seen her alive. Jason reluctantly agreed to head home but left Britt with a burner phone to contact him if she needed him.
Back in Port Charles, Anna urged Brennan to bring Josslyn home before it was too late. Colette secretly searched Jack’s safe in his office, then phoned Pascal to tell him she needed to get the code for a locked box in the safe out of Joss and Vaughn.
To stop Pascal from further torturing Vaughn after he took them both hostage, Joss gave up the combination — or were Joss and Vaughn playing him? Britt stumbled upon Josslyn and Vaughn in the room where Pascal had stashed them. Joss pleaded with Britt to help them, but Britt quickly fled the scene.
Passion Play
After Molly walked in on Ava and Cody getting hot and heavy in the stables, he came clean with both women about Kristina hiring him to cause trouble for Ava and Ric. Molly confronted Kristina, who insisted she’d only been trying to help. Cody told Dante about Kristina paying him to seduce Ava and lamented that he’d blown his shot with Molly now that she knew what a jerk he was.
Reversal of Fortune
During a heated exchange at Alexis’s, Ric learned that Kristina knew that he and Ava were blackmailing Alexis. When Ava entered the fray, Ric revealed that he’d tied up all the blackmail money in bonds that weren’t going to mature for 30 days — and once they did, the funds would be his and his alone.
A furious Ava clocked Ric over the head with a paperweight, rending him unconscious. Realizing they were all in too deep to summon the cops, Ava, Kristina and Alexis covered up evidence of Ric’s presence.
Ric was horrified when he came to in Alexis’s basement — tied to a cot and with a ball gag in his mouth — and learned that Alexis, Ava and Kristina had decided to hold him hostage until the bonds matured, then take the money.
Ava finagled a prescription for sleeping pills out of Lucas, who told Liz that Ava and Ric had broken up.
Points of No Return
When Stella was arrested by the insurance fraud investigators, Portia took umbrage over Curtis turning to Jordan for help. Mr. and Mrs. Ashford had a huge fight over her penchant for keeping secrets and his pull to Jordan, and they effectively realized their marriage was over. Isaiah comforted Portia and they made love in her office!
After, Portia huffed to Isaiah that Drew was responsible for the crumbling of her family, and Curtis lashed out at Drew for what he’d done to Stella. Stella put Jordan up to trying to get Curtis to calm down, worried that her nephew would do something to Drew that he couldn’t take back.
With Alexis’s help, Stella got out on bail. Trina was deeply upset about Stella’s predicament and shaken when Portia finally came clean to her about Drew’s blackmail. Meanwhile, Kai’s rosy view of Drew soured when he got confirmation that Drew had used his power to sic the investigators on Stella. He told Trina he’d seen the light about the congressman, and Trina told Kai she needed his help.
Children’s Hour
Molly, Kristina and Alexis, were outraged when Drew slapped Scout’s maternal family members with restraining orders, barring them from seeing the little girl. (He also planned to issue one to Danny but had to wait until Jason was back in town as Danny is a minor.) Alexis told Sonny about Drew’s latest stunt, and Sonny seethed that sooner or later, one of Drew’s enemies would put a stop to his mischief.
Willow told Drew she would get back together with him in exchange for him using his power to get her kids back. Nina was horrified by her daughter’s decision and furious when Willow revealed that according to Drew, she had insisted that he not come clean with Willow about their affair. She threatened Drew in public.
Brook Lynn and Gio had an emotional talk at the church, thawing the ice between them. Brook Lynn urged Dante to go to Gio, and when he did, the men took a small step forward in connecting as father and son.
Checks and Balances
Growing impatient about Sonny having yet to pay for his “direct or indirect role” in Natalia’s death, Marco told Drew about the million dollars that had mysteriously shown up in Judge Heran’s account before she ruled in Michael’s favor. Drew tried to leverage his knowledge of the judge’s likely blackmail to get Michael to give custody rights to Willow. Michael refused but was privately concerned, though he believed Sonny when his dad claimed he hadn’t paid off the judge. Drew went to Carly to try to persuade her to get Michael to change his mind, and she threatened his life — which Elizabeth overheard.
Sidwell was furious with Marco for telling Drew about the judge and said they had to get to the judge before Sonny did. Chase put in a good word with Heran about Willow. Later, Danny and Rocco spotted the judge’s body floating in the water off the pier!
Power Brokers
Laura was proud of Martin when her brother relayed that he was no longer working for Drew. Martin stressed the importance of Laura winning reelection rather than Drew’s stooge, Ezra Boyle.
Sidwell revealed to Colette that he was responsible for poisoning Maxie, which caused her heart attack and eventual coma. He assured Colette that soon, he would have control of Deception. Later, with Deception’s stock tanking, Sidwell told Lucy he would invest enough money to keep it afloat — in exchange for a larger interest in the company.
