Rick Hearst recently discussed his character, Ric Lansing, being captured in a panic room in the General Hospital by Alexis, Ava, and Kristina. Considering what he did in the past, many fans believe he had it coming.
Here’s what happened, and what the actor had to say about the ongoing situation in the show.

Rick Hearst explains why Alexis, Ava, and Kristina are holding Ric captive in General Hospital
Ric wakes up in Alexis’ basement, not knowing how he got here, and begs to be let free. Ric had moved a large sum of money into a bond account, hoping to get revenge on Kristina. But instead, he ended up being tied to a cot.
Despite Ric promising not to press charges against Ava and Kristina, the women aren’t willing to take the risk. They want to keep him there for 30 days until the bond matures, and they can get the money. Once the money is received, they will return it to the Cassadine trust, and Ava will give her the evidence. Alexis explains she made the deal with Ava, who promised to hand over the security footage and Ric’s damaged car, which will help Kristina avoid prison.
Ric worries that once they have the money, Ava will kill him. But she reassures him that they don’t plan to kill him and will set him free once they get the money. Later, Kristina even helps Ric remember how he ended up there. He screams for help, but Alexis reminds him that no one can hear him and puts the gag back in his mouth.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Rick Hearst spoke about the three women capturing Ric in General Hospital. He said, “It was really not all about the money for Ric — it was really about the revenge and the payback on Kristina. But Ava doesn’t care about that. It was really all about the money for her from the get-go. For Alexis, it was about protecting her daughter.”
