General Hospital’s Josh Kelly Loves Working With New Four-Legged Costar

General Hospital has a new star who has everyone gushing, Outback, the dog. The adorable beagle has become a key part of the narrative this week, and seemingly also has her co-stars impressed. GH’s Josh Kelly, who portrays Coady on the show, opened up about his adorable co-star, Outback, in a recent interview.

Josh Kelly wishes he could’ve worked with the Outback dog ‘more off camera’

Josh Kelly spoke to Soap Opera Digest about sharing scenes with Outback, who was originally discovered back in June by Emma and Gio on General Hospital. This week, Outback went missing, leading to some drama. But fans now know that Outback is safe and alive. In fact, Outback is sharing some scenes with Kelly’s character in the recent episodes.

“That dog is adorable!,” Kelly told Soap Opera Digest about the new General Hospital heartthrob, “Her real name is Bailey and she is super-sweet,…Bailey is a little beagle, and my first dog as a kid was a beagle mix named Stormy, so I’m a fan of the breed.”

But there was one regret Kelly had about Outback. “I wish I could have worked with the dog more off camera,” he explained, “I wish I could have been its handler, because the dog’s handler is on set and they only pay attention to the handler! I don’t know if it’s her owner or her trainer, but talk about having to be present in scenes!”

He further admitted how he wants the dog to really like him more than anyone on the set. “When it’s an adorable dog like she is, you want it to like you,” he said, “You know when you’re at a party and a dog kind of likes you, but it really likes your friends and you get kinda jealous? It feels like that. You’re like, ‘Well, why doesn’t she want to look at me?’”

So, it seems General Hospital’s new star has won over the cast members and the fans. Hopefully, Outback will continue to remain a big part of the show going forward.
