France officially recognises Palestinian state at UN General Assembly

France formally recognised Palestine as a state at the UN General Assembly on Monday, marking a major shift in French diplomacy.  It comes after the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Portugal recognised Palestinian statehood Sunday, September 21.
