Robert De Niro and Ariana Grande in Focker-In-Law
Robert De Niro and Ariana Grande in Focker-In-LawAriana Grande, Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro aren’t a trio you’d naturally expect to see in one place, however all three have come together for the new film in the Meet The Parents series, Focker-In-Law.
In the newly-released trailer for the upcoming family comedy, Ariana takes centre stage as the new girlfriend of Ben’s character’s son Henry (played by Skyler Gisondo) – who the family patriarch has a spot of trouble warming up to.
The teaser also sees Ariana’s character taking on the infamous lie detector test from the first movie – and attempting to navigate her future in-law’s clingy parenting, as he struggles to let go of his now-adult son.
Of course, being the Fockers franchise, there’s a healthy amount of the silly comedy (an early doors “wee-wee” joke) and gross-out humour (Jack “baby birding” a piece of food Greg ejected after choking on it) that we’ve come to expect from the first three films.
Focker-In-Law will welcome back most of the franchise’s major players, including Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner and Teri Polo as well as some new faces.
Booksmart star Beanie Feldstein stars as Henry’s twin sister Samantha, while Stranger Things actor and comedian Eduardo Franco also appears in the new movie.

Two notable absentees are Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman, who played Greg’s parents Roz and Bernie in the previous couple of films.
Back in June, Barbra told Variety she’d have to negotiate her salary to return to the franchise, after being unhappy with how things went down in the past.
“They’d have to pay me a lot of money because I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid and so I’m pissed off,” she explained.
“I was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men,” she elaborated. “The head of Universal was Ron Meyer at the time, and he actually sent me a bonus check. It was very sweet.”
Later that year, Ben said that Barbra’s involvement in the sequel was “in process”, however judging from the trailer it looks like we won’t see the return of the screen legend’s character, Roz.
Focker-In-Law is the first sequel in the film series in 16 years, following on from 2010’s Little Fockers.
It’s also Ariana’s first movie role since the massive success of Wicked.
Ben and Ariana previously worked together on Zoolander 2 in 2010, when the singer made a brief cameo in an orgy scene (naturally).
Describing working with Ariana again, Ben previously told Jimmy Fallon “she’s so great with comedy” and gushed that it’s “crazy how talented she is”.
Focker-in-Law is released in cinemas on 25 November.
