An Australian music festival has confirmed it has axed singer D4vd from its line-up amid an ongoing investigation.
After the body of missing teenager Celeste Rivas, 15, was found by Los Angeles police at an impound last week, it has been reported that a home linked to the US singer was also ‘searched for blood evidence’.
The police have stated that the 20-year-old – real name David Anthony Burke – is ‘fully cooperating’ with the investigation.
The American singer had been due to perform at Spilt Milk festival shows in Ballarat, Perth, Canberra and the Gold Coast in December, but his name disappeared from the festival’s website a few days ago.
Now, organisers have released a statement online, addressing cancelling the singer’s scheduled sets.
Releasing a statement on social media, Spilt Milk explained: ‘Last week we removed d4vd from our website and marketing out of respect for the unfolding story.
‘We can now confirm d4vd will not perform at Spilt Milk and we are working on a replacement booking which we’ll announce as soon as it’s finalised.’
On the day that Rivas’ body was discovered, D4vd went ahead with a planned show, however others have since been cancelled.
On Wednesday, September 17, he cancelled a show in Seattle, while two others in San Francisco and Los Angeles were then removed from the websites.
Although there’s been no formal announcement on his European and UK shows, Ticketmaster seems to have confirmed they are not going ahead.
On the ticket sellers website, shows from October 1 through to November all are listed as cancelled.
They include performances in Oslo, Stockholm, Cologne, Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris, Zurich, Berlin, Frankfurt and Vienna.
D4vd was also set to perform two shows at the Roundhouse in London – on October 20 and 21.
Although links on his official website list shows in London as still having tickets available, the pages linked for purchases reveal the shows are no longer ahead. The page for the singer’s show on the venue’s official website is also now no longer available.
He was also booked to play four headlining concerts in Australia – but there are no longer active links to purchase tickets on the venue’s or box offices sites.
The deluxe edition of D4vd’s debut album, Withered: Marcescence, was also scheduled to be released lastbut it has yet to show up on streaming platforms.
TMZ has reported that his label, Interscope, has suspended the album’s release and paused promotional activity.
D4vd has 34.6million monthly listeners on Spotify alone and nearly 4million followers on TikTok with his April album, Withered, peaking at number 13 on the Billboard 200 charts.
The publication previously revealed that officers had searched a home linked to Burke for 12 hours, looking for ‘trace amounts of blood’ through the use of luminol, per a source.
Per Rolling Stone, the home’s owner confirmed to the publication that it had been rented to Burke’s manager last year, from February 2024.
A missing person flyer, uncovered by CBS, showed that Rivas (a Lake Elsinore resident) went missing in April 2024, aged 13.
Her date of death is listed as September 8, when her body was discovered after authorities were alerted to a ‘foul odour coming from a vehicle’.
The cause of death has been ‘deferred’ pending further investigation. No suspects have been identified by police, nor have any charges been laid at the time of writing.
Metro has contacted Ticketmaster and representatives for D4vd for comment.
