Looks like the “Phillies Karen” saga just won’t quit. What started as a viral moment at LoanDepot Park has now taken an even stranger turn. But with a completely new character dragged into the drama. And somehow, a Red Sox fan ended up in the middle of the Phillies-Marlins controversy after internet sleuths targeted the wrong social media account.

Now, the poor fan, who had nothing to do with the incident, suddenly found herself accused of being the woman who snatched a home run ball from a young Phillies supporter. She’s since spoken out, saying it wasn’t her, and pointing out she’s actually a Red Sox fan. Furthermore, she’s opening up about how the mix-up unfolded. For the unversed, the new character in this story is named Cheryl Richardson-Wagner. And she claimed not to be the viral Karen from the Phillies’ games.

Ok, everyone,Richardson-Wagner shared on Saturday. “I’m NOT the crazy Philly Mom (but I sure would love to be as thin as she is and move as fast)… and I’m a Red Sox fan!”  Ahh, a wrong call by the fans to take the fight to, so, unfortunately, Richardson-Wagner has been taking a beating online. She’s accused of being the Phillies fan in that viral video from LoanDepot Park. She got wrongly identified as the one who threw a fit and pressured dad Drew Fellwell into giving up a home run ball he’d caught for his young son, Lincoln. But here’s the thing: no one actually knows who the woman is, and Richardson-Wagner says it’s definitely not her.

And to clear things up even more, the Hammonton School District in New Jersey, where internet sleuths claimed the woman supposedly worked, confirmed she has no connection to them. “The woman identified on social media as ‘Phillies Karen’ is not. And has never been an employee of the Hammonton Public Schools located in Hammonton, New Jersey.”

So, we think that’s enough to put to rest the controversy around Richardson-Wagner. And she rightly proved her innocence amid the fans’ continued effort to bring justice to the young Lincoln.

The young Phillies fan was eventually served right

All’s well that ends well, and that defines the situation better for the young Phillies fan who got dominated by one Karen. How? Well, he was one of the few fans in MLB history who got rewarded by both teams.

Reportedly, a couple of innings after Lincoln was asked to give up the ball, the Marlins stepped in to make things right. During the sixth inning, the broadcast even caught the moment when a staff member surprised him with a bundle of goodies. Maybe a few baseballs and some gear. Then, after the game, the Phillies’ Harrison Bader himself came over to greet the young fan and handed him a signed bat.

And to top it all off, it just so happened to be Lincoln’s birthday. Thus, making the whole experience even more special!

I’m really, really happy that I got to meet Bader. We got to take a picture with him,” Lincoln said. “I’ve never been that happy to see someone before.

So, what started as a sour moment turned into an unforgettable celebration. The kind of memory any young Phillies fan would treasure. In the end, Lincoln came out on top in the duel with Karen. All thanks to his dad’s calm handling of the situation.
