Every Protector Of The Island In Lost (& How They Died)

One of the most important roles in Lost is the Protector of the Island, which is held by four different characters throughout the series. After beginning with the Oceanic Flight 815 plane crash and its survivors in Lost's pilot episode, the show quickly reveals that the characters are stranded in a place with forces beyond what they could have imagined. This includes what they call the Smoke Monster, and later on, time travel.
