Estee Lauder shares soar on signs of turnaround even as beauty giant axes thousands more jobs

Beauty giant Estee Lauder, which owns Clinique, Jo Malone and MAC Cosmetics, said that sales grew 2 per cent to £2.65billion over the three months to 31 March - thanks to pricey perfumes.
