Euphoria actor Eric Dane has been spotted at Capitol Hill in his first public appearance since he skipped the Emmys.
The 52-year-old, who has been open about his Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis and battle, was in Washington, D.C. to advocate for the reauthorisation of the Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies (ACT) for ALS.
Passed in 2021, the ACT bill requires the US Food and Drug Administration to create and implement a five-year plan to develop and investigate ways to treat and cure ALS, known as Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in Australia.
Dane is part of the advocates trying to get the bill reauthorised for another five years of research and funding.
I am ALS Org posted photos of Dane joined by other advocates and a senator on Capitol Hill, where US government buildings like the Senate and House of Representatives are located.
He attended Capitol Hill in a mobility chair, dressed in a black suit and a striped red and black tie.
"We're on Capitol Hill with Eric Dane advocating for the crucial reauthorization of ACT for ALS," the post from I am ALS reads.
The actor appeared in a video on the Instagram account two days ago, after he was noticeably absent from the Emmy Awards.
"I'm Eric. An actor, a father and now a person living with ALS," he said in the video.

"For over a century, ALS has been incurable, and we're done accepting the status quo.
"We need the fastest path to a cure and that's why I partnered with I AM ALS on the Push for Progress. Our goal? A billion dollars over the next three years."
He appears unable to move in the video, slurring his words occasionally as he spoke.
The neurodegenerative disease is progressive and fatal, destroying the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord "responsible for controlling voluntary muscles," according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
Dane was supposed to participate in celebrations for the 20th anniversary of Greys Anatomy alongside his co-star Jesse Williams, at the Emmy Awards last week.
Dane however, didn't make it to the show, and Williams presented the segment alone.
The actor has been in dozens of popular shows and movies, including Grey's Anatomy, Euphoria, Charmed, Burlesque, Marley & Me and Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
