Louis Partridge addressed James Bond casting speculation at the Enola Holmes 3 world premiere on Thursday night. The actor admitted he never pictured himself in the 007 conversation. He responded to the rumors with a sharp smile on the red carpet. “No, no. Not yet at least. But that’s something to keep in mind,” Partridge told Variety.

Variety London Bureau Chief Alex Ritman reported in April that Partridge is among several actors in contention for the role. Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly searching for a “fresh-faced” British actor to play the iconic spy. At 23, Partridge would become a notably younger Bond than other rumored contenders. Jacob Elordi is 28, Harris Dickinson is 29, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is 35, and Callum Turner is 36.

Partridge would also skew younger than past actors when they first took the role. Sean Connery started at 32, Daniel Craig at 38, Pierce Brosnan at 42, and Roger Moore at 45. A younger Bond would offer long-term upside for the studio. Partridge could anchor five or six films over 15 years and still be under 40.

Meanwhile, Partridge also reflected on navigating fame since his breakout in the first Enola Holmes in 2020. “The social media stuff can get a bit noisy sometimes, but it’s important to have good people around you,” he said. He also acknowledged the attention on his personal life alongside his rising career. “I did not, but it’s a part of the job and I’m grateful to feel like I’m on the right path,” he explained.

Since his breakout, Partridge has worked alongside Cate Blanchett and landed a partnership with Prada. He ended his red carpet exchange on a note of gratitude. “Wonderful. Thank you, Variety,” Partridge said with a smile.
