Ross, Charity and Mack look shocked in Emmerdale
A traumatic week awaits for Charity (Picture: ITV)

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) endures an incredibly stressful birth in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, as confirmed in our brand new video clips, with the arrival of her little one being anything but smooth.

The Woolpack legend is carrying what was initially thought to be granddaughter Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) baby after promising to be her surrogate.

But a shock twist confirmed that the child is actually Charity’s own, with the show icon having cheated on husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) with his new best mate Ross Barton (Michael Parr).

Charity resolved to keep the news from Sarah, who thinks the baby she’s carrying is hers. And the situation gets even more complicated next week when she goes into labour – with only Ross and Mack for support.

For a first look at all the drama to come, Metro has some brand new video clips of the scenes in question.

Having been notified about Charity being in labour, Sarah races to Hotten General, hoping to be there by her gran’s side when the baby is born. However, she’s left puzzled when the receptionist reveals that no-one by the name of Charity Dingle has been admitted.

Determined to get answers, Sarah sets off for the maternity ward, using the stairs after being told that the lift is out of service. And as we close in on the lift, we discover that Charity, Mack and Ross are all trapped inside!

Ross attempts to get help via the intercom as Charity takes deep breaths between contractions. Mack, meanwhile, is also taking deep breaths, not doing too well with the confined space of the lift following being trapped in a bunker by killer John last year.

He sits down on the floor, promising Charity he’ll be okay. But sensing it’s nearly time for the baby to arrive, Ross instructs the person on the other end of the line to get a shift on with the help that’s supposedly coming their way!

Sarah arrives at the maternity ward in search of answers but, as the woman at reception said, there’s no-one having been admitted with Charity’s name.

The situation takes a turn, however, when the maternity ward doctor receives a call, having been notified that a woman has given birth in the lift. Sarah wonders if this could be Charity and thus sets off to find out.

The question is: will Charity and the baby be okay? Spoilers have indicated that, after delivering the little one, Charity is bleeding – and her life is very much on the line.
