After THAT dramatic cliffhanger last night (Monday September 9) Emmerdale is now not on tonight and tomorrow Coronation Street will also not air. So when can you catch the next episodes of the ITV soaps?

Football, rubgy and other special shows often affect the soaps, but which is it tonight? We’ve got you covered here.

Is Emmerdale on tonight?

Unfortuantely Emmerdale will not air tonight, which is frustrating given the end of Monday’s episode saw Aaron and John lying unconscious at the bottom of a gorge!

It’s all because of football as England’s men take on Serbia in a European Cup qualifier. That will be on ITV from 7pm with kick-off at 7.45pm.

It means we’ll have to wait until Wednesday (September 10) to find out their fate. It will air for half an hour at 7.30pm as usual.

And what about Coronation Street on Wednesday?

Corrie fans reeling from the reveal that Becky Swain is still alive will have to wait until Friday to find out what happens next. The soap will not air on Wednesday due to the National Television Awards airing in its place.

No catch-up episodes have been announced as yet for either soap.

What happens in Emmerdale and Coronation Street this week

Although Emmerdale is not on tonight, when the action picks up tomorrow it’s set to be huge. As Robert dials 999, he is firmly in the frame for pushing Aaron and John off the cliff.

Questioned by the police, Robert struggles to get anyone to believe his version of events. Chas in particular is fuming as she vows revenge on the man who did this to her son – and eyes Robert.

Elsewhere, Charity has a scan and struggles to hold her emotions in. Will she crack and reveal the truth about the baby?

Over on the cobbles, Lisa is still in complete shock after the revelation Becky is still alive. As she tries to process everything where does this leave her and Carla?

And with Tyrone in hospital seriously injured, Carl is forced to admit to Abi he’s been stealing cars with Dylan and Brody. How will she react?
