Coming off a wild 2024 that included the controversial Oscar contender Emilia Pérez and the catastrophic bomb Borderlands, Emmy nominee Édgar Ramírez tested his pipes for his next big role. During a conversation with Collider's Steve Weintraub for It Would Be Night in Caracas at our Toronto International Film Festival media studio at the Campari Cinema Center, the star was asked about the upcoming romantic drama Next Life, in which he'll share the screen with Game of Thrones alum Emilia Clarke. The film was first announced last December and tells the love story of Ivy, a musician who is faced with an array of parallel universes set in the New York jazz scene, where her life unfolds in vastly different ways. He was able to share an update on the experience working with Clarke and writer-director Drake Doremus, and confirm that he got to play plenty of music in the exciting new project.
