“I don’t think he has any plans to address us as a team, but I’m sure if things go well, we’ll hear from him this week,” said Scottie Scheffler about the 47th POTUS on attending the Ryder Cup on home soil. However, with the chatter increasing about Trump’s appearance, the captain is asked if it would really help the team.
During the press conference, Bradley was asked if Trump’s appearance would factor into the performance or if there was any concern about distraction. Denying the worry, the captain said, “No, definitely not. I’m deeply honored that the President of the United States is going to come support our team at the Ryder Cup. I think anytime you can be around a current president is a pretty phenomenal thing, but when you’re representing your country at a place like Bethpage Black in New York, having the president there to support you is something that is just absolutely incredible. I’m really grateful to him for doing that for us.”
This year, Trump has been active in his appearances at sports events. Earlier in February, he was seen attending a Super Bowl match. Later, he joined the spectators of the Club World Cup final in July. In fact, the most recent was his appearance at the US Open men’s tennis finals in September; however, there was a recent struggle with his ally’s assassination.
Charlie Kirk, a US conservative activist, was assassinated a few weeks ago, changing the dynamic for the President. In fact, it might impact his plans for appearing at the Ryder Cup. Speaking on similar lines, Scheffler also said, “It’s been a tough few weeks for our country with some of the stuff that’s been going on.”
This is a developing story…
