Disney’s $180 Million Misfire Thunders to the Top of Streaming Charts

It’s no secret that Marvel Studios has had a difficult year, with three back-to-back box office disappointments in the form of Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and more recently, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Ironically, the best-reviewed film of the three ended up performing the worst commercially. Directed by Jake Schreier, the anti-hero team-up movie Thunderbolts*, on paper, was Marvel’s answer to DC’s Suicide Squad. But while that poorly reviewed film grossed over $700 million globally, Thunderbolts* couldn’t crack the $400 million mark. However, the movie is redeeming itself on the Disney+ streaming service, having recently debuted there.
