In the aftermath of the shocking shooting that left Zoe Slater rattled and reeling, Jack Branning finds himself trapped under the weight of his guilt. With the police still insisting the shooting wasn’t targeted, Zoe struggles to make sense of what happened, and it’s clear that Jack is holding onto more than he’s letting on.
Still shaken, Zoe returns home to the Slaters, who welcome her with open arms, but their support isn’t enough to silence her trauma. Jack claims he was trying to recruit Ravi as an informant the night of the shooting, a lie Ravi is more than happy to play along with when he’s pulled in for police questioning. In fact, Ravi started the lie in order to protect himself or else drag Jack down with him by declaring that Jack was with him that night.
But Jack’s lies start to catch up with him. Denise grows increasingly suspicious after noticing flat keys on the sideboard and Jack’s shaky cover story about fixing a boiler at Ravi’s flat. Her concerns only deepen when Priya later reveals there was nothing wrong with the boiler to begin with. The pieces begin to fall into place.
When Ravi confronts Jack about the missing gun, which Jack had attempted to plant in No.5A, the tension reaches boiling point. With enemy lines drawn and leverage in hand, Ravi makes a bold move, he tells Denise everything.

Despite everything, Denise finds herself in a desperate position. Jack’s situation is spiraling, and with Ravi holding all the cards, Denise does the unthinkable: she seeks help from Ravi.
