PS5 follow-up of PS2 game FantaVision

A fan-favorite PS2 game’s 2023 PS5 follow-up has made a surprise return to the PS Store and Steam. Fantavision 202X is a revival of the fun 2000 puzzle game. Its delisting confused fans because the IP is owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

As it turns out, it’s Sony that’s behind Fantavision 202X’s relisting. Developer Cosmo Machia noted as much when it announced the resumption of digital sales.

“We are pleased to announce that our licensing agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment for Fantavision 202X has been extended, in line with the expectations of our fans,” Cosmo Machia said in a statement. “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported Fantavision 202X.”

We can confirm that the game is back on the PS Store and costs $9.99.

“Fantavision 202X is a unique puzzle game about detonating fireworks,” an official description reads. “Bring dazzling explosions of colour and light to the night sky by catching groups of at least three matching fireworks, then firing them off to create beautiful displays in glorious 4K resolution.”

Fantavision 202X supports PSVR2. “You can fully immerse yourself in Fantavision’s pyrotechnic world and play dedicated VR Stages,” says Cosmo Machia.

It’s unclear for how long Sony has extended Fantavision 202X’s licensing agreement.
