One of the stars of Daredevil: Born Again has hinted at how Season 2 will surpass an iconic scene from Netflix’s Daredevil Season 3. The upcoming season launches on March 24, 2026, on Disney+. Part of Phase Six of the MCU, it will consist of eight episodes, slightly lower than the previous one’s nine-episode count.

Narratively, the new installment picks up from where Season 1 left off. It depicts Matt Murdock (Daredevil) building a resistance group to combat Mayor Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) and his anti-vigilante task force.

Vincent D’Onofrio talks about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio teased in a recent interview that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 tops an iconic scene from Netflix’s Daredevil Season 3.

Speaking to IMDb while promoting the upcoming installment, D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock, answered a series of fan questions. One of the questions posed was “What scene should your character be known for?”

In response, the former highlighted the scene from Season 3’s final episode. In it, Murdock brutally beats Wilson Fisk into submission and shouts at him, “I beat you,” releasing all the pent-up frustration against him that had been building up throughout the installment. He also touched upon Murdock’s anguish at not being able to permanently get rid of Fisk due to his moral code.

Speaking about the scene, D’Onofrio noted that he thought of it while thinking about Murdock and Daredevil’s shared identity. “Because Daredevil is the one that’s smashing him,” he shared. “But Matt is underneath the skin of that character, and he can’t kill him.”

The Full Metal Jacket star continued, “And I think that’s an amazing thing.” He even went as far as to suggest that they have “topped” that scene in Season 2.

Also in the interview, D’Onofrio briefly discussed working with Matthew Lillard, who will play Mr. Charles, a political opponent of Fisk’s. The former called the Scream star “a completely unique actor,” adding, “There’s nobody like him.”

He then highlighted Lillard’s veteran status within the industry, praising him for his work on SLC Punk!. D’Onofrio further stated that Lillard’s skill in portraying Charles made shooting the scene with him and Ayelet Zurer’s Vanessa Fisk in New York City’s Gracie Mansion “fun.”
