Creature Commandos Season 2 Gets Great DCU Production Update From Sean Gunn

Sean Gunn has shared an encouraging update on Creature Commandos Season 2, revealing where the series stands behind the scenes. The DCU actor discussed the production of the next season in an interview.

In an interview with Brandon Davis, Sean was asked which of his DCU characters viewers would see next among Weasel, G.I. Robot, Maxwell Lord, and Kraglin (MCU). In response, he confirmed that the voice recording process for Creature Commandos Season 2 has begun. He also revealed that G.I. Robot and Weasel are part of the season, while teasing another return for Maxwell Lord. However, he could not reveal more details about Maxwell.

“Well, I can tell you that we’ve been recording season two of Creature Commandos. So, G.I.[Robot] and Weasel are on the docket somewhere,” Sean said. Speaking about Maxwell Lord, the 52-year-old added, “And we will be seeing Maxwell Lord again more than once, but I am not allowed to say where or when.”

Creature Commandos was renewed for Season 2 in December 2024, midway through the first season run. Sean’s latest comments confirm that production is underway behind the scenes, with voice-over work in progress. He specifically named G.I. Robot and Weasel as characters likely to appear somewhere in the new season, giving fans a heads-up on returning characters.

Gunn voices both characters, with Weasel previously appearing in The Suicide Squad before returning in the animated series. He also voices G.I. Robot, who became one of the show’s key characters.

Gunn was especially interested in Maxwell’s role, calling him “my favorite” character to play. He noted that Lord has become “a part of ” his ongoing DCU work, hinting at a larger presence across the franchise beyond Creature Commandos.

While it can be seen as an important update, the plot details and other characters for Season 2 remain under wraps. Creature Commandos Season 2 does not have a premiere date yet.
