A country music star has thanked fans for their messages of support after his mother was murdered in a home invasion.
Spencer Hatcher, 28, posted a video to Instagram on September 10, thanking his fans for the support just weeks after his mum, Holly Hatcher, was murdered.
"I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all the love and support that you all have shown me and my family over the last month," Spencer said.
"In what has really been the worst time of our life, you all sent so many loving comments and messages and made posts and everything.
"We did our best to read them, but I just want you all to know how appreciative we are and I am of you all.
"My mom was my biggest fan and my biggest supporter in everything that I did. She loved the music. She loved everything about it.

"After a lot of thought, prayer and speaking to my label about continuing... I 100 per cent made the decision that I want to continue making music and bringing smiles to people's faces and being out on the stage."
He also said he knew his mother "would want me" to continue making music.
"I'm not going to quit. I'm going to keep on going and go as hard as I possibly can like I always have.

"I want you all to come along on this journey with me as I get back into it.
"I appreciate you all and everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me."
Spencer's mum was stabbed to death by an intruder in a random home invasion on August 3.
The intruder, later identified by officials as Kevin Moses Walker, was fatally shot by Spencer's father and Hatcher's husband in the driveway of their home in Virginia.
Following the incident, Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson told local media that the incident was a "highly unusual, apparently completely random (attack) with an individual with no known history of violent behaviour of any kind, or even criminal behaviour of any kind."
The country singer cancelled three shows following his mother's death.
