This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.

Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) finally got the chance to tell her side of the story in tonight’s Coronation Street, and it’s fair to say that she had a LOT of explaining to do.

Until Monday night, everyone, including wife Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), believed Becky to be dead, having apparently been mowed down by a getaway car during a robbery while on duty as a police officer nearly four years ago.

However, this clearly wasn’t the case, as Lisa got the fright of her life when she found Becky in her living room, very much alive.

After establishing that she wasn’t having a breakdown, Lisa had to accept that the last four years she’d spent grieving her wife had been a lie. As she went through a whole range of emotions, Becky tried to support her and help her understand what had really happened.

At first, Lisa worried that she had been hurt and spent the last few years in a coma, or kidnapped and held against her will.

However, when Becky revealed that she had left the country of her own volition, Lisa was horrified.

Becky explained that she had spent the last four years in Spain under another name after being put into witness protection, following an undercover operation gone wrong.

Lisa was furious to discover that Becky had been targeting a dangerous gang, which had ultimately put the whole family in danger and led to the decision for Becky to go into hiding.

Though Becky insisted that she had left to keep both Lisa and daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) safe, Lisa argued that there must have been another way.

It was at this point in their reunion that Carla Connor (Alison King) returned home, and Lisa left her stunned by introducing her to her dead wife, before storming out for some air.

After warding off Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) warnings that he had seen Becky in the hospital last week, Carla took the resurrected woman with her to find Lisa.

They eventually tracked her down in the park she and Becky used to take Betsy to as a child, and found her sitting on Becky’s memorial bench.

Having had some time to get past the shock, Lisa wanted to know more about the logistics – mainly, who it was they had cremated in Becky’s place.

Though Becky insisted that it was above her pay grade to know those details, Lisa eventually got it out of her, and was surprised to learn that it was Tia Wardley.

Tia’s name has been thrown around several times over the past few months, after Carla’s visit to see Logan Radcliffe in prison.

Believing she was involved in Becky’s ‘death’, Carla looked into her but her search led nowhere.

As Lisa and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) began getting closer to the truth last week, DI Costello (Daon Bruni) paid a woman to pretend to be Tia to throw them off the scent.

When Carla pointed out that they had met Tia, Becky set them straight, enlightening them on Costello’s involvement.

As Becky lamented about how guilty she felt, Lisa stormed off again, before Carla convinced her to hear Becky out.

At the factory, Carla left Lisa and Becky to it, and Lisa seemed to soften as she adjusted to Becky’s presence. However, the mood changed when Becky asked to see Betsy, and Lisa was firm in her refusal.

Though Becky used Lisa’s words about wishing she’d had one more minute with her wife against her by pointing out that Betsy would feel the same, Lisa stood her ground, insisting that she needed time to get her own head around it before even thinking about involving their daughter.

Will Becky get the chance to see her little girl again, or will Lisa go out of her way to keep them apart?
