Research has indicated that shows that take too long between seasons tend to lose more viewers. By this standard, Prime Video's action series The Terminal List is in a particularly precarious position. The show premiered back in 2022, and will return with a long-awaited second season this month. However, the four-year gap is highly unusual. Even Netflix's The Gentlemen, which proved to be immensely popular after its debut in 2024, lost 45% of its viewers upon its return this year. And it was dealing with only a two-year break. Prime Video tried to mitigate the risks involved with The Terminal List by pushing forward with a spin-off series titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, which was released in the interim.
