Once a week, a situation makes me face the rude internal question “Is this annoying or am I just getting old?” School children refusing to give their seats up on public transport? That’s a symptom of both. Exasperation over trying to find a swimsuit bottom that encompasses both bum cheeks might be cranky hag territory. However, I think it’s basic consumer rights to demand that a tiny piece of nylon costing upwards of €60 should not ride so far up that you can taste it. I stand by my suspicion of low-rise jeans. I will rail against the tyranny of tender lower back-upper bottom being exposed to the cold air. That’s not old age, that’s lived experience.
