Linda Reagan's (Amy Carlson) death was one of the defining events of Blue Bloods' run and of Danny Reagan's (Donnie Wahlberg) life, and Boston Blueis shifting gears to bring a story that could've blossomed in the original series before her passing. While Boston Blue season 2 will remain focused on Danny's life as he continues working with the Boston Police Department, there's always a layer of grief that the former NYPD detective feels over the loss. With Linda having died in a helicopter crash between Blue Bloods season 7 and season 8, the original series took a tragic turn.
