BNB Chain has quietly become one of the most active venues for real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, with activity ranging from tokenized Treasuries to gold and equities – and its native coin pushing toward the four-digit mark.
From Treasuries to Gold on DeFi rails
One of the clearest signals of momentum came when Circle shifted its USYC money market token to BNB Chain. By late summer, nearly three-quarters of the fund’s $669 million capitalization was sitting on the network, giving BNB a dominant share in the product’s liquidity. Gold has also taken root: Matrixdock’s XAUm token saw $22 million in trades last year, and almost all of it flowed through PancakeSwap, the DeFi exchange running on BNB Smart Chain.
The architecture behind the growth
Unlike many single-purpose blockchains, BNB Chain is built around a stack of interconnected layers. Its Smart Chain handles execution with instant settlement and low fees, opBNB delivers high-throughput rollups, and Greenfield supplies decentralized storage. Together, the setup provides the backbone for both institutional and retail adoption, giving issuers and traders one venue for compliant issuance, liquidity, and DeFi integration.
Equities join the mix
After proving traction in Treasuries and gold, equities are beginning to move onto BNB Chain. Ondo Finance and BackedFi are preparing tokenized stock offerings, marking a new stage in the network’s bid to become a central hub for RWA markets.
BNB’s record-setting rally
While projects pile in, BNB itself has been rallying. The token climbed to $1,000 this week, setting a new all-time high, with futures open interest also breaking past $2 billion. Analysts like Ali Martinez suggest a break above $1,000 could open the door to $1,300, a level now firmly on traders’ radars.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, highlighting that BNB’s market cap has overtaken that of banking giant UBS, has urged financial institutions to integrate the token into payments and trading. He framed BNB’s trajectory as proof of its expanding utility beyond crypto-native circles.
The bigger picture
Tokenization is still in its early innings, but BNB Chain’s accelerating adoption suggests it is already shaping how digital markets handle traditional assets. With gold, Treasuries, and equities flowing onto the network, and its native coin charging toward new highs, Binance’s ecosystem is making a case as the blockchain of choice for the next wave of financial innovation.
