Blue Jays recall pitcher Easton Lucas, option Justin Bruihl to Buffalo

The Toronto Blue Jays have made a minor bullpen move.

Lefty Easton Lucas was called up from triple-A on Saturday while fellow reliever was optioned back to Buffalo.

Lucas, 28, appeared in six games for the Blue Jays earlier this season, making five starts with a 6.66 ERA while coughing up 25 hits over 24.1 innings.

Bruihl, 28, owns a 5.68 ERA in 14 relief appearances on the year with 16 strikeouts in 12.2 innings.

The shuffle marks the latest in a series of bullpen manouevres for the Blue Jays, whose relievers have battled command issues in recent weeks.

Braydon Fisher and Mason Fluharty, who have each enjoyed clutch moments for Toronto this year, are also in triple-A as the team tries to keep its bullpen fresh.

The Blue Jays face the Milwaukee Brewers in the second of a three-game series on Saturday, with first pitch set for 3:07 p.m. ET / 12:07 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
