Major League Baseball has revealed the prospects that are set to get an extended run through the autumn months in the Arizona Fall League, including a group from the Toronto Blue Jays organization.

Infielder Josh Kasevich, catcher Edward Duran, left-handed pitcher Kai Peterson, and right-handed pitchers Angel Bastardo, Yondrei Rojas, Alex Amalfi and Chad Yeager will represent the Blue Jays in the desert.

Blue Jays minor-league field coordinator Eric Duncan — a former AFL MVP — will also be managing the Glendale-based team that is made up of prospects from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox and Blue Jays.

Kasevich, the Blue Jays 13th-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline, missed most of this season with a back injury and has struggled since returning, posting a .150 average and .428 OPS with two RBIs in 18 games at triple-A Buffalo. The 24-year-old shortstop is eligible for the Rule 5 Draft in the off-season.

Any eligible minor-league player not added to a team’s 40-man roster can be selected by other organizations in the Rule 5 Draft.

Broadcast schedule

Bastardo, a Blue Jays selection in last year’s Rule 5 Draft, will be making his debut as a member of the Blue Jays organization after spending the season recovering from Tommy John surgery.

The 23-year-old right-hander had a 5.36 ERA with 53 strikeouts and 21 walks over 45.1 innings with the Boston Red Sox double-A affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs, in 2024.

Duran, the Blue Jays top-ranked catching prospect per MLB Pipeline (No. 14), has a .275 average and .767 OPS with eight home runs and 47 RBIs across stints with low-A Dunedin and high-A Vancouver this season.

Peterson, Rojas and Yeager all posted ERA’s under 3.00 at their respective levels this season, and while Amalfi allowed more runs he led the group in strikeouts with 96 over 81.2 innings.

Competition between the six fall-league teams will take place from Oct. 6 to Nov. 15 and a new post-season format will have all six teams advancing to the playoffs, where the top-two teams will receive a first-round bye.
