Black Mirror Creator’s New Netflix Show Gets Star-Studded Cast, Grisly First Details

Charlie Brooker‘s dystopian Black Mirror series gets the streaming world talking season after season. While we have no idea if Season 8 is cancelled or renewed, the English creator remains creatively busy. Brooker has a new Netflix thriller series up his sleeve with a star-studded cast and grisly first details.

Unlike Black Mirror, which explores the downsides of technology, Charlie Brooker’s new series takes a turn into the detective-thriller genre. Untitled for now, a press release states the original show will be about a distressed detective from Bleakford who goes to London to catch a ritualistic serial killer before it’s too late.

The four-part Netflix series presents a detective storyline, but its logline describes it as “profoundly serious” and “contains blood and frowning.” So, maybe this could be heading in an unexpected dark-comedy direction. Charlie Brooker made sure to satirize the series announcement with his own original one:

“I’m beyond thrilled to be saying these words for the press release,” said Brooker. “I’ve dreamt of providing a quote ever since I was a young foetus, and now here I am doing it. I’d pinch myself, but like all of us, I’m terrified that if I do that, I might wake up and discover 2025 has all been a magical dream. Please watch my show. I am begging you.”

Who is in Charlie Brooker’s new Netflix show?

Joining the cast of Charlie Brooker’s new project is a star-studded ensemble. You’ve got Paddy Considine leading the series. His most notable key roles include playing King Viserys I Targaryen in House of the Dragon and Kevin Harrigan in MobLand.

There’s also Georgina Campbell, who you may remember leading Barbarian and Ishana Night Shyamalan‘s The Watchers. Last but not least, we have another actress joining who’s also in the Game of Thrones world. Known for playing Cersei Lannister in the George R.R. Martin HBO adaptation, Lena Headey will also star in the project. The British actress also has another upcoming Netflix series she’ll star in, The Abandons, which deals with the conflicts of several outlaw groups in the Old West.
