Things to do this week in London

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here are 12 of the best activities, dining, and drinking spots in the capital.

1. Try Pick & Cheese, the world’s first-ever cheese conveyor belt restaurant

Conveyor belt restaurants aren’t anything new. YO! Sushi made them mainstream in the 2010s and I remember having such bad FOMO as I didn’t like sushi. If you were in the same boat, I’ve got good news…

Pick & Cheese has just opened a brand new Camden location, which is the world’s first-ever cheese conveyor belt restaurant (they also have The Cheese Bar in Seven Dials). Here, colourful plates laden with cheese, chutneys, pickles and more wind their way around the room on an 18m long conveyor belt – it’s like cheese heaven.

Guests sit around the conveyor belt and can pick up and eat the cheese they feel like trying. The pairings are incredibly unique, mixing sweet and savoury flavours to create a true feast for the senses. Highlights include the Cornish Gouda served with Clotted Cream Fudge (sounds so wrong, but tastes so right), Cornish Kern and Brown Butter Biscuit (Cheese and cookies? Don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it!) and the Mozzarella & Hot Honey Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

Plates from £4.35. Unit 93-94, Chalk Farm Rd, Chalk Farm, NW1 8AH. Book here.

2. Have some fun at Fairgame, a playground for grown-ups

‘Are you all friends? You might not be after this!’ That was what my two mates and I were told when we checked into Fairgame’s new St Paul’s location. First, we fill up on pizza and burgers, then we tackle the games, cocktails in hand. The Mum, I Won A Fish! cocktail , with vodka, blue Curacao, Supasawa, passionfruit, and lemonade? Showstopping.

Players compete against each other in 12 different games that they can play over 90 minutes, like basketball throwing, whack-a-mole, or the world’s largest indoor hook-a-duck.

You can even check the score in between games for a nail-biting running tally. Think funfair, flashing lights, and cuddly toy prizes. It’s truly a playground for grown-ups. And the best part? I won – and we’re still friends (I think).

From £25pp for two games. One New Change, St Paul’s, EC4M 9AF. Book here.
