A beloved PS3 game is finally making its return to PS4 and PS5 consoles this month.

Beat Hazard Arcade announced for PS5 and PS4

Developed by Cold Beam Games, Beat Hazard Arcade is slated to launch on September 23. Although it can’t be preordered just yet, players can add it to their wishlist on the PS Store right now. Additionally, the developers recently revealed a trailer for the game, giving interested players a glimpse of what to expect from the music-based shooter.

As seen in the trailer, Beat Hazard Arcade is a twin-stick shooter that uses music to drive the action on-screen. The game includes over four and a half hours of music. However, players can put their favorite tracks on a USB stick and use their own music in the game. So, if someone wanted to shoot mass hordes of spaceships to the sounds of “Burn” by The Cure, they can totally do that.

Here’s the description of Beat Hazard Arcade on the PS Store:

“Experience your music collection like never before in this intense, music-driven twin-stick shooter. Each of your songs creates its own unique ebb and flow, fueling your weapons with the power of the beat. Beat Hazard Arcade seamlessly blends the thrill of gaming and love of music, together they become greater than the sum of their parts.”

This is just one of a plethora of classic franchises coming to PS4 and PS5 in the near future. Recently, the popular Sega game Panzer Dragoon II Zwei is getting a remake from developers MegaPixel Studio and Storm Trident. The game will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show 2025. A release date has not yet been announced for the remake.
