Belongings ‘burned outside Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s former royal home’

Belongings at Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s former royal home were reportedly set on fire weeks after the former duke moved out.

Former Prince Andrew moved out of the 30-room Windsor’s Royal Lodge estate last month, and into the more modest cottage in Sandringham.

The disgraced former duke will be living at Wood Farm on the royal estate until his permanent home is renovated.

Andrew moved out of Windsor after further Epstein files contained his name and more images in connection with the late paedophile financier.

He had been living at Royal Lodge virtually rent-free for more than 20 years, most of it with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

Removal vans were seen whizzing in and out of the lodge ahead of Andrew’s move last month.

But royal aides are reportedly still clearing out remaining possessions, according to The Mirror.

Staff allegedly set fire to unwanted belongings of their own last week.

Skips full to the brim with stuff were reportedly also seen nearby.

A man, thought to be one of Andrew’s former valets, was spotted burning items, including furniture, on the grounds of the estate on Tuesday, while more removal vans were seen packing up on Wednesday.

A source told the outlet: ‘Andrew was told everything has to be out and absolutely nothing was to be left behind.

‘He hasn’t been back to collect anything, leaving staff to Everything has to be out by the weekend and we’ve been told no trace of the former occupants or staff should remain.’

Palace sources told the Mirror that the burned items and furniture belonged to Andrew’s former staff.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment as it does not act or represent Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

‘We should adopt Andrew into our family’

The former prince’s name has been further linked to Jeffrey Epstein following allegations by a former Russian model and an alleged victim of the convicted businessman.

The model told the Daily Mail that she was in Epstein’s New York townhouse with other women during Andrew’s 2010 trip to ‘chez Epstein’.

She said Epstein said he would like to ‘adopt Andrew into our family.’

The woman told Daily Mail: ‘With Andrew it was very informal, like family.

‘JE [Epstein] even used to say: “We should adopt Andrew into our family.” He (Andrew) was so nice, he fit in so well. But everything felt very family-like.’

She and other women were allowed to dress more informally when the former prince visited, compared with the more tailored look they had to have when other high-profile guests were around.

The former model, who reportedly got a payout as one of Epstein’s victims, questioned why Andrew didn’t appear to be suspicious about young women surrounding the businessman, adding that she herself looked ‘very young.’

She said Andrew seemed ‘just so cool, so pleasant’ during his visit, but added that ‘in fact, people of his level legitimised someone like Jeffrey Epstein.’

The 2010 visit to Epstein’s came some months after he had completed his sentence for sex offences against a child.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any wrongdoing or knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.
