In an interview with Game Watch, Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida stated that the team might implement PvP content for the Beastmaster limited job. This will not be present when it first appears. The implementation will depend on player feedback after the Beastmaster class is available in 7.5. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

In response to Game Watch asking if the FFXIV would offer Beastmaster PvP that would allow players to pit the monsters they raised against each other, Yoshida said that the development team had already considered that during the planning stage. The limited job apparently already has enough content to count as a separate game within the MMORPG, so the foundation of creating a whole other game exists. There were already ideas being thrown around during the planning stage, such as having them form gambits and fight each other.

As mentioned earlier, player opinions will be the key to whether Beastmaster PvP content appears in FFXIV. Yoshida stated in this interview, “We will look at player feedback to see if it’s more fun to keep raising monster allies, or if people want content that lets them mix-and-match their monsters and make them fight others.” What players do and say after the Beastmaster is in the game will decide the direction of development. As a reminder, people using this limited job will be able to have up to three monsters with them. If PvP occurs, it could be similar to Pokemon 3v3 singles.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The 7.5 Part 1 patch will come out on April 28, 2026.
