When thinking back on the history of The Simpsons, there aren’t many characters who have become popular icons in the same way that Bart was. “Bartmania” took over popular culture in the 1990s, as the character was frequently involved in many of the show’s funniest and most popular storylines among its massive number of viewers. Although Bart-centric episodes would tend to rank among the show’s best, audiences got a taste of his sense of humor at the beginning of every episode thanks to the opening chalkboard gag.
