B&B's Katherine Kelly Lang on Jack Wagner's Return: 'Just Like the Good Old Days'

Bold and Beautiful fans were recently treated to some big casting news: Jack Wagner is returning to the soap as Nick Marone, a role he originally played from 2003-12 and reprised for one day back in 2022. One of his former (and possibly future!) leading ladies on the show, Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke), sat down with B&B Supervising Producer Casey Kasprzyk for an episode of Bold Live to discuss Wagner’s comeback, among other topics.

Reunion Special

“It was fun,” Lang enthused of being back onstage with Wagner. “It was just like the good old days when he was there before, and it brought back so many memories and we kept talking about all the scenes that we did in the past. A lot I forgot until we started talking about them.

“It’s funny, because I ran into Jack at the gym the other day,” she continued with a chuckle. “It appears we go to the same gym and I had no idea. Ran into him and couldn’t stop talking. We were talking for like, an hour and a half and he’s in between all his exercises and I’m like, ‘Blah blah blah,’ just trying to catch [him] up with the story and everything we’re going to do and working together and just bringing back that kind of chemistry that we had from years ago. Which will be fun to play.”

Sail Away: Nick and Brooke have had many romantic adventures in the past — but what lies ahead?

With Brooke currently attempting to convince Ridge — Nick’s half brother — that they are each others’ destiny to try to win him back from Taylor, throwing Nick into the mix is sure to take the storyline in a juicy new direction. “It’ll also give Ridge something to worry about, hopefully,” Lang teased with a laugh. “Because Brooke’s always thinking about that!”

Kasprzyk also brought up Nick and Brooke’s son, Jack, joking that at this point, the notoriously absentee character would be around 20 years old — but the producer also reported that the character would not be returning to the canvas. Still, even without their offspring in tow, Nick will turn Brooke’s life upside down.

“It was always really adventurous with him, especially because [he] had the boat [The Shady Marlin],” Lang mused of Nick and Brooke’s past romantic connection, which led to one relatively short-lived marriage. “They were definitely in sync in a different way than Brooke and Ridge are. Totally different dynamic and… I kind of missed that. I think it’s gonna be good to bring that back.”
