Avengers Doomsday Rotten Tomatoes Rating Score Prediction RT Review[Image Credit: Marvel Entertainment / YouTube]

The end-of-the-year superhero blockbuster Avengers: Doomsday is on track to earn a high Rotten Tomatoes rating, according to a very early prediction at least. Slated to arrive on December 18, 2026 (that is, barring any delays), the Marvel Studios production has already had many months of hype as cast members for the much-anticipated film are slowly revealed. It goes without saying that Avengers: Doomsday has very large shoes to fill as a sequel to 2019’s Avengers: Endgame as well as a reunion of sorts for many of the original actors of the franchise, like Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Robert Downey Jr. (though this time as Doctor Doom instead of Iron Man). Joining the cast is the Fantastic Four led by Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, in addition to members of the X-Men and Thunderbolts.

Avengers: Doomsday is on route to a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Avengers: Doomsday is predicted to earn an 82% critics rating, or in the range between 81% and 85%, on Rotten Tomatoes, according to a bet on Kalshi (as of June 17). This is well above the 75% rating required for a film to earn the site’s coveted “Certified Fresh” status. At the time of writing, the full results of the bet are as follows:

Above 45 (Rotten Tomatoes prediction) – 95% chance Above 50 – 92% Above 55 – 89% Above 60 – 87% Above 65 – 82% Above 70 – 75% Above 75 – 68% Above 80 – 57% Above 85 – 41% Above 90 – 24%

Given how early these predictions are for Avengers: Doomsday, they need to be taken with a grain of salt (perhaps a mound of it, actually). Apart from several character reveal videos and a one-minute teaser in January, there hasn’t been a substantial trailer for the film yet. Given the small amount of confirmed information we have for the movie thus far, this prediction is effectively based on vibes.

Delving into the history of the bet, which started back on April 7, the film has had a Rotten Tomatoes prediction consistently in the low-to-mid 80s. This would be above the 75% critics rating for 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, but below those of the other Avengers movies; that is, the 91% for Marvel’s the Avengers (2012), the 85% for Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and the 94% for Avengers: Endgame (2019). That said, given how early this prediction is, there’s likely some hesitation to place a bet on the movie getting a 90% or higher, which could artificially lower the forecast.

In recent months, Avengers: Doomsday has been pitched as a reset of sorts for the series, and Disney understands that it will be difficult for this film to be as successful at the box office as Infinity War and Endgame, both of which earned a worldwide haul of more than $2 billion. During a panel at SXSW London 2026, Robert Downey Jr. acknowledged as much while alongside the movie’s directors Anthony and Joe Russo: “We can’t stand on the shoulders of these giants of Infinity War and Endgame. So we’re literally zeroing out the board, and we’re going to try to earn your trust and respect all over again.”

As for the Russo Brothers, they are calling Avengers: Doomsday as part of the MCU’s “Phase Zero.” At the same panel, Joe Russo said the film would continue the tradition of the franchise “shifting and changing and surprising you and then reinventing itself.” He explained further, “Look, we were with Rob [Downey Jr.] earlier today. We were both talking about this concept that we are back to phase zero. This is starting over from scratch. We want to make sure everybody feels like this isn’t leaning on anything from the past.”
