Analogue has announced the return of its 16-bit FPGA consoles through the updated Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+. These revised systems, which serve as successors to the SNES and Genesis/Mega Drive compatible hardware discontinued in 2022, introduce several hardware and quality-of-life improvements intended to modernize the retro gaming experience.

Pre-orders for both the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ are scheduled to open on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. PDT. Each console is priced at $219.99, with shipping expected to begin in December 2026.

The most significant hardware changes involve connectivity and power delivery. Both “Plus” models now include built-in Bluetooth and low-latency 2.4GHz wireless support, allowing users to sync wireless gamepads directly to the console without external dongles. For power, Analogue has replaced the aging micro-USB standard with USB-C. To support this, the company is including a 30W GaN PD 3.0 power supply in the box, a notable upgrade over the basic power solutions provided with previous iterations.

While the consoles gain wireless capabilities, they retain the original controller ports on the front of the units to support legacy wired peripherals. Additionally, a new USB-A port has been added to the rear of the systems to provide more convenient support for the Analogue DAC, which allows these digital consoles to output to analog CRT televisions.

On the software and usability side, the new revisions introduce a “hot-swap” feature. This allows players to swap physical game cartridges while the system remains powered on, a departure from the traditional requirement to power cycle the console when changing games. Users can also now power the consoles on or off remotely using a synchronized controller.

Despite these upgrades, the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ maintain a 1080p resolution cap for video output. Unlike the upcoming Analogue 3D, which targets 4K resolution for the Nintendo 64 library, these 16-bit revivals are focused on providing a high-definition 1080p signal that remains compatible with the company’s existing scaling features and filters.

Analogue is offering the consoles in several regional and aesthetic variations:

Super Nt+: Available in Classic (North American purple), SF (Super Famicom), and Black colorways. Mega Sg+: Available in USA (Genesis), EU (Mega Drive), and JP (Mega Drive) regional designs.

It is important to note that Analogue does not include gamepads with the consoles. Users will need to provide their own original wired controllers or purchase compatible wireless gamepads separately.
