Star Ana de Armas has had a rather difficult few years; even her greatest achievement, being nominated for an Oscar, came for a performance in perhaps the most divisive film in recent memory, Blonde. A few months ago, she got her first real shot at headlining a franchise of her own, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. But the movie flopped at the box office, grossing $130 million worldwide against a reported budget of $90 million. Her latest release, Eden, was an even bigger bomb; the movie barely made $2 million against a budget of $50 million. The last time that de Armas was facing such an uphill climb was over a decade ago, when she appeared in director Todd Phillips' War Dogs, which made an instant impression on Netflix's global charts following its debut in South America recently.
