Sunny Callahan’s (Jamie Marie Leary) hearing airs this week in Casualty, and as expected things do not go to plan.

The pharmacist was revealed at the person responsible for the drug thefts in the hospital. When boyfriend Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) discovered her secret, Sunny told him that she got involved because her son was in trouble with the gang.

He urged Sunny to talk to the police, but she was reluctant, fearing her family would be in danger if she did.

Elsewhere this week, Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson) continues to put all of his focus on his time at HART. This means he doesn’t focus a great deal on the friction between him and Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell) – but what impact will that have on their marriage?

If Iain can’t talk to Faith, can they even get through this?

Also, following Ngozi Okoye’s (Adesuwa Oni) son’s request to go back to Lagos, her final shift at Holby ED takes place. She has a leaving party at the pub, but desperately hopes one person in particular will turn up.

We’re nearing the end of the boxset and the drama isn’t stopping yet.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Sunny is shot

Sunny is shot while attending her court hearing and gets rushed into the ED. As soon as Rash gets word of what’s happened, he takes it upon himself to try and save her. Worrying for her son’s future and safety, Sunny changes her mind and decides to report the gang to the police after all.

After a missed diagnosis, Sunny suddenly deteriorates and Rash fears she will not survive her injuries. Before she’s rushed into surgery, Sunny asks to speak to the police and Rash allows it, despite knowing her life is hanging by a thread.

Rash is scolded by Flynn Byron (Olly Rix), who believes he’s making a mistake by allowing Sunny to gamble with her life. Fortunately, Rash is triumphant when he gets the support of Flynn and helps in facilitating a ‘dying declaration’ from Sunny.

Rash stabilises her and Sunny pulls through. Afterwards, Rash and Rida Amaan (Sarah Seggari) share a warm moment where Rida tells Rash that if he could hold it together on such a tough day, without his meds, he can handle anything.

Iain’s got a lot on his mind

While Iain treats Sunny in the court room, Faith tells Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) that the situation with Jacob Masters (Charles Venn) has changed everything between her and Iain. He is inspired by a patient to open up but when he sees how chaotic the ED is as a result of the drugs crisis, Iain runs away, unable to face Faith.

In the ambulance station, Iain finds a bag of drugs and is tempted, but gets caught by Stevie before anything happens. He admits to her that he wants to know what’s so special about drugs that encourages people like Faith to take them. Stevie suggests that Iain’s views might stem from issues with his mum. He rings the hospice, but is thrown to learn that Kim died earlier in the day.

Stevie makes Iain promise to talk to Faith about his mum’s death but a few days later, she realises he still hasn’t said anything. It’s clear Iain has no intention of telling Faith though, as we see him preparing for the police raid on a drug dealer’s house.

Ngozi departs

Nicole Piper (Sammy T Dobson) discovers it’s Ngozi’s final day at work. She agrees to come to her leaving party, but grapples with her emotions throughout the day.

Ngozi works well with Nicole as they help a patient who has fallen victim to counterfeit alcohol. Nicole is impressed when Ngozi finds an experimental remedy to help the alcohol poisoning, and gives the patient brandy without any hint of trouble regarding her own addiction.

As her shift ends, Nicole realises it will be too painful to come to Ngozi’s leaving drinks and decides against it.

At the pub, Ngozi says her goodbyes to her friends, but it’s obvious she would like Nicole there.

Flynn causes more concern

Dylan Keogh (William Beck) worries when Flynn is late to work again and has clearly not been home for a few days. Stevie tells Dylan that Flynn sleeping around is just how he copes.

He tries to confront Flynn but his dismissive behaviour means Dylan has got no choice but to bury his concerns.

Will Flynn ever open up to someone?
