FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny), a believer in the paranormal motivated by his sister's disappearance as a child, and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), a skeptic, devoted their careers to investigating the unexplained in The X-Files, the longest-running sci-fi series on TV, with over 200 episodes across 11 seasons. Its initial run began on Fox in 1993 and ended in 2002 after nine seasons, followed by a reboot in 2016, as well as a final season in 2018. The series also included two movies. The series was created by Chris Carter, and a reboot is reportedly in the works from Ryan Coogler.
