Alexi Hawley's 'The Rookie' Spin-Off May Be Arriving Sooner Than Fans Think

With an eighth season already in production, ABC is eyeing another expansion of its hit franchise, this time with a brand-new spin-off titled The Rookie North. Speaking with Deadline about the project, creator Alexi Hawley finally offered a status update: "What can I share? We're aiming to shoot a pilot at some point in Spring or late Winter, so we're gearing up for that at the moment. That's what I can share." While still early in development, it’s a clear signal that ABC, 20th Television, and Lionsgate Television are eager to keep the Rookie-verse alive.
