A major PS5, PS4 action RPG quietly delisted its first expansion from the PS Store during The Game Awards 2025. As Blizzard Entertainment announced Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred expansion for 2026, it removed Vessel of Hatred SKUs from online stores, forcing players to buy both expansions in a bundle.
PS5, PS4 RPG Diablo IV’s DLC can’t be purchased separately
The decision to remove Vessel of Hatred listings from the PS Store has left players confused. For starters, it’s unclear if those who’ve already purchased Vessel of Hatred will be forced to buy the Vessel of Hatred + Lord of Hatred bundle or not.
If Vessel of Hatred isn’t offered in stand-alone purchase format in the future, then existing owners will be needlessly buying a second copy of the expansion because it’s part of the $39.99 Lord of Hatred standard edition bundle (pricier versions are also available). There’s currently no way to preorder only Lord of Hatred on the PS Store.
That said, this situation may change closer to Lord of Hatred’s release. The expansion will launch on April 28, 2026, with a new Paladin class and gameplay changes.
We’ll update our readers when we have more information.
