U.S. President Donald Trump waves during the Irish Open at the Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, Ireland.Donald Trump has been slammed after he told Ukraine to ease up on bombing Russia because it is harming the world economy.
The US president said America had told Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky “to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia”.
“Let him go after targets, but not diesel fuel, because he’s causing a shortage of diesel,” he said while attending the Irish Open golf championship at the Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, County Clare.
“This isn’t done by the Middle East, this is done by what’s happening in Russia and Ukraine. We spoke to Mr Zelenskyy about it. There are plenty of other targets.
“Don’t hit diesel fuel because that’s hurting the world. We don’t want him to hit diesel fuel. He’s hitting diesel refineries.”

Absolutely vile. Almost unimaginable levels of depravity. pic.twitter.com/F2H6ZehTEW
— Illia Ponomarenko 🇺🇦 (@IAPonomarenko) September 13, 2026Let’s call it what it is… Treason.
He’s turning on an ally to support an enemy. Russia has provided material support to Iran with killing US soldiers. Disgusting!!https://t.co/7KMKzCABa2
Trump wants Ukraine to stop hitting the one target that actually hurts Russia — their fuel production. Meanwhile Russia keeps bombing Ukrainian cities and energy grid daily. You don't get to invade a country, destroy its infrastructure, then cry when they hit back at your war…
— Martin Luther zip (@itsmartinlzip) September 13, 2026Oh we’ve reached the point of the failed Iran War where Donald Trump finally realises himself that he’s destroyed world fuel supplies and is trying to pass the blame to a country being invaded by Russia.
Of course he is. https://t.co/gLisGRt9WP
Slight drop in global refibery throughput is all about war in Iran, nothing about Ukraine. pic.twitter.com/d1aQYoOXek
