The arthouse distributor A24 has done what any disruptor should; it has created a niche for itself in an industry dominated by legacy players. Its impact was heard loud and clear when Warner Bros. recently announced the launch of a new label, designed to distribute the sort of mid-budget movies that have been A24's bread and butter. The indie distributor has been leveling up in recent years with projects such as Civil Warand Marty Supreme, both of which cost more than $70 million each and grossed more than $100 million worldwide. However, the distributor returned to its roots earlier this year with a horror movie that grossed 40 times its reported budget.
