It’s a pretty easy observation to make that fantasy is a rather big deal, if you're looking at literary genres in particular, but that doesn’t make it wrong. Obvious, yes, and undeniably right all at once. People have always seemed to dig stories about unusual landscapes/worlds, otherworldly creatures, and other magical things that can’t really be explained or understood without looking at them through a fantastical lens.
