If you weren’t previously aware, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible franchise is based off a television series of the same name, which ran for seven seasons from 1966-1973. The movies took those things that made the series stand out from its peers, like the famed face masks and its instantly recognizable theme song, and cranked them to 11. Yet for all the things Cruise and company borrowed, there is one element that they completely ignored, and the films are weaker for it. That element is a cute, furry ginger who's willing to take his pay in catnip: Rusty the ginger tabby cat.
