Television loves a post-apocalyptic plot, even though it could be fairly inconvenient for television longevity. Because once you unleash a global pandemic (remember those?), kill most of humanity, and then send the survivors around the world on a Navy destroyer trying to find a cure, there's only so long it can run for. But the fact one TNT series managed to get five seasons out of this premise was remarkable, and eight years later, people have apparently decided they’d quite like to experience the apocalypse all over again.
