From the simple joys of Super Marioto the grand journeys of Final Fantasy, there are plenty of fantastic video game franchises out there, but very few are entirely consistent. Once any series runs for long enough, it's likely that at least one installment will fail to meet the quality standard set by the other titles. Sometimes this is just a blip, but it's not uncommon for a once-great saga to never return to its former heights.
