3 bull elk, 1 moose with antlers, and 34 deer: Watford City man held in Dickinson after alleged poaching

Watford City, N.D. — The remains of over thirty deer, 3 bull elk and even a moose with antlers were found by law enforcement at the residence of a Watford City man who is now under arrest and currently being held at the Southwest Multi-County Correction Center (SWMCCC). The residence of Tadan Defoe, 19, and Tyler Defoe, 34, was initially being searched by law enforcement with a warrant on Dec. 6, 2024. Law enforcement then notified the local game warden that they had found an untagged elk head and an untagged moose head, according to a statement from the warden.
