2023’s Jurassic World Rival Movie With Star Wars Actor Is Leaving HBO Max

An action-adventure sci-fi film similar to Jurassic World is leaving HBO Max soon. It struggled financially at the box office during its theatrical run, failing to turn a profit. With its exit from the streaming platform on the horizon, viewers have limited time to stream it online.

65 is leaving HBO Max very soon

65, rather similar to Jurassic World in terms of its setting, will soon no longer be available in the HBO Max library, as it is reportedly leaving on July 1, 2026. Accordingly, subscribers have nearly two weeks to stream it.

Distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, the movie, which runs for 93 minutes, premiered in theaters on March 10, 2023. Made on an estimated budget of $45 million, it grossed approximately $60.7 million at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo).

Moreover, it garnered mixed-to-negative critical reception, reflected in its poor or unremarkable scores on review aggregators. It holds a rotten 35% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes but a more favorable 64% audience score. Meanwhile, Metacritic has assigned it a Metascore and user score of 40 and 4.8, both of which indicate “mixed or average” reception. Furthermore, IMDb has given it 5.4/10 stars.

The story follows an ancient astronaut who crash-lands on a prehistoric Earth inhabited by dinosaurs. Struggling to survive in a challenging environment, he encounters a young girl and attempts to help her.

Scott Beck and Bryan Woods helmed the film from their screenplay. The pair also co-produced it with Zainab Azizi, Deborah Liebling, and veteran filmmaker Sam Raimi.

Adam Driver headlines 65, playing Mills. The supporting cast includes Ariana Greenblatt as Koa, Chloe Coleman as Nevine, and Nika King as Nevine’s mother.

Meanwhile, Chris Bacon composed the background music while Salvatore Totino handled the cinematography. Josh Schaeffer and Jane Tones edited the movie.
